They said she was a beautiful girl.
She's got nice eyes and smile.
She was lovely enough to make them fall.
They overwhelmed her with their praises.
They tried to win her with their sweet words.
She once was flattered with their adoration.
Her face was where she got her ego.
Meanwhile, she felt skin-deep.
She kept telling herself that she was ugly.
She was ugly, years ago.
You are ugly.
That's what she heard from the people around her.
And that's what she believed.
Some people told her that she was beautiful inside.
Indeed, she was talented and gentle.
She comforted herself by looking at what she's got inside.
But, "I am ugly" she said.
She always visited websites filled with pictures of models and celebrities.
She couldn't explain why.
"They're fake," She knew.
She hated them, but adored them.
She also hated mirrors.
She couldn't tell of the reasons.
She couldn't stand before mirrors.
One day, she met him.
He was the best looking guy she's ever seen.
He's got an extra-ordinary face.
It couldn't be better.
He told her that she was beautiful, very beautiful.
She couldn't believe what she heard.
She kept saying that she was ugly.
He stopped saying that she was beautiful.
He started looking at her face,
steadily.
He studied her face,
subtly.
He gave thanks for her face.
He put his hands on her face.
His fingers ran on her face, slowly.
The forehead, the eyebrows, the eyelids,
the lashes, the nose, the cheeks, the lips, the chin.
"You can't be more beautiful," he said.
Tears kept running out of his eyes.
"Please, don't lie to me. I know I'm ugly..." she broke down.
"Believe me, you are beautiful; you are," he wiped the tears,
with his long fingers.
He deliberately held her in his arms.
She buried her face into his bosom.
She was beautiful.
She looked into the mirror before her.
She smiled.
Indeed, she was beautiful:
Her eyes, her smile displayed her beauty.
They said she was a beautiful girl.
She was lovely enough to make them fall.
They overwhelmed her with their praises.
They tried to win her with their sweet words.
She knew she's beautiful, because
he said so.
